GO! Project

Our Mission

GO! aims to support young people coming from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds in planning and in developing key competencies (initiative, creativity, communication, goal setting and planning) as an essential part of their career development and transversal competencies enhancement. To address the needs for developing these transversal skills, we will develop a set of board games that teach communication and planning skills through a unique gamified experience and experiential learning. This supports the skills and competencies needed for career success in the EU in a way which these can be acquired even if the learner has a diffеrent cultural or cognitive background, especially given the current state of many schools and jobs while still adapting to the change in communication during the practice of social distancing. The games and all complimentary outputs will be developed based on extensive research of the needs of young people, existing EU and OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) standards and beta testers’ evaluation and feedback, therefore, establishing the foundation for quality ongoing youth work. This is of the utmost importance for the partnership, considering that youth and NEETs are some of the most affected from the COVID-19 pandemic and need to balance an already overwhelming task of being at school in a totally new manner. To accomplish our aim to improve career prospects and develop success skills in young people, we are also going to develop a series of videos on the skills that the games teach and their importance. We acknowledge that in the partnering countries there are some efforts to provide career orientation services and key competence training and it has been part of their priorities, yet all partners agree that these services are not touching the root of the problem and are outdated.
